Thursday, 4th February 2010 (1553 views) A plush new restaurant featuring a 123-feet gold leaf chandelier has been picked out as one of the highlights of Miami's South Beach district.Writing in the Telegraph, Lucie Young said the chandelier, which also features Swarovski crystal, is the centrepiece of the area's "most glamorous" eatery, Mr Chow, which offers a contemporary take on the cuisine of Beijing. South Beach itself, or SoBo, is known as the American Riviera and, despite being a magnet for tourists, has retained its traditional charm. Other attractions in the area include the newly completed $22 million (£13.8 million) South Pointe Park, the Wolfsonian Museum and orchestral academy the New World Symphony. The first Mr Chow opened on Valentine's Day in 1968 in London. It now has locations in Tribeca in New York, Las Vegas, Nevada and Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, as well as Miami and the British capital.
