Elvis Presley gold ring set to hit the auction blockThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 29th October 2009 (538 views) A "one-of-a-kind" gold ring once worn in concert by the legendary Elvis Presley is set to go on sale next month in a Florida auction. The "unique and original" piece of entertainment memorabilia was given to Lloyd Perry of Bristol, Tennessee during a concert in Asheville, North Carolina in July 1975. During the one-and-a-half hour show, Presley threw this Gibson guitar into the crowd, which was simultaneously caught by Mr Perry and the man sitting next to him. Mr Perry allowed the other concert goer to keep the instrument, but a few songs later, his wife pointed out that Presley was motioning to him. The King brought Mr Perry on stage and personally handed him the gold ring, which features 19 four-prong set diamonds and was valued at $6,500 (£3,926). Mr Perry described the concert as "an amazing night I will never forget". The ring is being sold by Affiliated Auction Galleries together with original concert tickets, three copies of newspaper reports about the incident, around 40 original photos of the event and other pictures of Presley wearing the ring at other venues.
