Friday, 10th July 2009 (980 views) An annual coin show currently underway in Florida is attracting hundreds of collectors from around the world.The Florida United Numismatists Summer Fun show at the Palm Beach County Convention Centre began earlier this week and finishes tomorrow (July 11th). Some $50 million (£30.9 million) worth of coins and paper are currently on display at the event, as well as a number of high-value gold pieces and shipwreck treasures, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Coins from numerous countries around the world can be seen at the convention, as well as coins dating back to 400 BC and a number of recent new issues from the US Mint. Visitors can expect to see both valuable, genuine pieces and fake coins of historical interest. The event is the third such show to be held by the Florida United Numismatists and saw more than 4,000 visitors last year. Next January will see the organisation hold a winter show in Orlando.
