Thursday, 9th July 2009 (678 views) A new festival near San Antonio, Texas, will offer attendees the chance to find and keep more than $1 million (£616 million) worth of gold. The first Texas Gold Rush Adventure & Music Festival will take place between March 25th and 28th in 2010, with a maximum of 5,000 $500 tickets to be made available for the prospecting part of the event on March 27th. In return, attendees will be able to look for gold buried across more than 300 acres of rugged terrain south of San Antonio, as well as a number of other treasures, within a seven-hour time limit. The festival was created as a way of recreating the 1800s gold rush, said one of the event's organisers, Larry Moore. He explained that the event was inspired by a recent prospecting trip he took with his son to Arizona. "We realised that there must be great frustration for thousands of other gold seekers leaving empty-handed," he commented.
