Thursday, 18th June 2009 (1026 views) A gold hoard discovered in a field in England has been declared treasure.The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that several items were uncovered in a field near Leeds in September of last year, including three gold rings. West Yorkshire coroner David Hinchliff has now declared the find treasure and the man who uncovered it told the news source that it could be worth up to £100,000. "I've been metal detecting for a few years and it's something I'll never ever forget. This is the sort of thing you don't ever believe will happen," he said. The collection is though to date from between the ninth and 11th centuries and also features half a gold ingot. Last week, Central Queensland News revealed that a man visiting the town of Clermont in Australia discovered a pair of gold nuggets using a metal detector, with one of them weighing more than 54g.
