Wednesday, 17th June 2009 (948 views) A pure gold statue is among the items going on sale in a two-day auction in Paris.Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada is clearing out his possessions as he downsizes his home, Agence France-Presse reports. More than 1,000 pieces are on sale, with auctioneer Claude Aguttes noting that some of them could be featured in a museum. The Thai gold statue dates from between the seventh and ninth centuries and is expected to fetch between 60,000 (£51,000) and 100,000. Commenting on the decision to move to a home 80 per cent smaller than his current one, Kenzo was quoted as saying: "I am upset to part with these objects, but really now I have decided to turn the page and sell everything." Earlier this week, Antiquorum revealed that a pair of Patek Philippe gold watches sold for a combined total of more than $380,000 (£233,000) at an auction in New York.
