Friday, 5th June 2009 (1122 views) The amount of gold being imported into Dubai from India is increasing, it has been found.According to Commodity Online, India was the top gold trading partner of the emirate in 2008. This continued in the first five months of this year, with 30 tonnes having already been exported to Dubai. One bullion trader based in Mumbai explained that jewellery as well as gold coins is being sent there for processing. "Gold refiners in Dubai and other parts of the Middle East are buying such items in large quantity," Ajay Khanna was quoted as saying. One of the reasons cited was the fact that a large number of Dubai's jewellery shops are owned by Indian businessmen. A collection of pieces made from the precious metal and inspired by Indian tribal culture was recently launched by Jetha Bhai Zaveri.
