Museum to present gold coin to landmark visitor

The ten millionth visitor to the National Museum of Korea will receive a gold coin worth 320,000 won (£167).

A replica of a gold crown found at Cheonmachong, the coin will be presented by officials to a lucky winner.

Located in the Yongsan district of Seoul, an estimated one-fifth of the South Korean population have visited the museum within the past few years, according to the Dong-A Ilbo.

Housing numerous pieces of gold art and jewellery among its 12,000 items on display, highlights of the attraction include a gold crown and girdle once owned by a queen and found at Hwangnamdaechong.

In other news, gold items go on display during Cambodia's first jewellery exhibition this week as the kingdom attempts to attract foreign buyers, the Phnom Penh Post reports.

Seun Sotha, director of the ministry of commerce's trade promotion department, told the news source that 30 to 50 manufacturing and export firms are due to attend the event at the Hotel InterContinental in Phnom Penh.
