Thursday, 14th May 2009 (1431 views) Divers have been exploring shipwrecks in the Puget Sound that contain sunken gold treasure.According to Komo News, over 150 wrecks exist in the area and a number of them are thought to contain valuable hoards. Diver Dan Warter told the news source that "there's that lure of finding treasure on a deep, dark shipwreck". He added that he believes there were still three safes on board the wreck of the SS Governor luxury liner, which sank in 1921, including one from a casino thought to be filled with gold coins. Mr Warter explained that strong currents mean that there are only "two, maybe three times a year" when the water is still enough to make it possible to dive to the wreck. Gold coins were recently found among treasures discovered by workers sweeping an old room in the Srirangapatna Palace that belonged to Tippu Sultan in India, Mid-Day reports.
