Friday, 17th April 2009 (1318 views) Collecting or investing in rare gold coins can deliver "enjoyment, profit, and satisfaction", an expert has claimed.Writing for Coin Connoisseur, Barry Stuppler stated that "the world contains innumerable types of coins, with more created all the time". Owner of rare and investment coins dealer Barry Stuppler & Co, he explained that rare coins are beautiful objects that have "tended to appreciate in value, especially in the mid- to long-term". Mr Stuppler advised investors to think about their objectives when purchasing rare coins and determine which kinds of coins to buy based on their budget. He also noted that there is a difference between the focus of collectors and investors when acquiring items for their collections and portfolios and buyers should be aware of this. Meanwhile, the Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled a range of new gold coins, including a piece depicting the Pitcher Plant, the official flower of Newfoundland and Labrador, which has been designed by botanical artist Julie Wilson.
