Wednesday, 8th April 2009 (1224 views) Alamo Gold produced a record amount of gold during the first three months of 2009 at its Mulatos mine in Sonora, Mexico, the firm has revealed.The Toronto-based company's quarterly output to March was 46,000 ounces of gold at an expected total cash cost of less than $350 (£238) per ounce. In a production summary for the first quarter of 2009, Alamos Gold stated that 1.07 million tonnes or ore and 1.532 million tonnes of waste were mined over the three months. The waste-to-ore ratio for the quarter was 1.46 with a total of 1.068 tonnes of ore crushed at an average grade of 1.71 g/t gold. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Alamos Gold recently reported an increase in reserves and global resources at the Mulatos project, with proven and probable reserves now standing at 2.05 million ounces. The Canadian gold producer employs around 450 people in Mexico and has a range of operations, exploration and development activities in the country.
