Tuesday, 10th February 2009 (1592 views) Goldplat has released a new update for its gold recovery businesses in South Africa and Ghana, revealing that both "performed well" during the quarter to December 2008.The company stated that its processing operations are performing strongly and a number of new supply contracts have been signed with leading international resource businesses. In its operational update, the Goldplat explained that further gold stockpiles have been secured in South Africa, bringing its total stocks of materials for processing to 44,050 ounces. In Ghana, the gold producer has identified further stockpiles and taken samples, while plans to expand its geographic reach are progressing with opportunities identified in Tanzania and Zambia. Demetri Manolis, Goldplat chief executive, said: "We are looking to expand our geographic reach by locating opportunities in Tanzania and Zambia, which should again positively impact our future operational performance." Listed on the AIM stock exchange, Goldplat operates in Africa and intends to create a mid-tier mining house focused on gold production and funded through revenue generated by its gold recovery activities.
