Thursday, 29th January 2009 (1982 views) Luxury mobile phone brand Vertu is launching its new Signature collection of handsets this year to mark its tenth anniversary.The new range will feature hallmarked white gold and yellow gold and the company claims that it is the most highly-crafted mobile handset ever created, representing a decade of knowledge in the luxury mobile phone sector. Alberto Torres, Vertu president, stated: "When Vertu first started out with the idea of producing luxury phones, the industry thought it would never take off. Vertu was ahead of the times." Unveiled in Paris, the limited solid gold Signature is authenticated by a hallmark from the Swiss Assay Office and features rubies and sapphires. The phone's gold Sim drawer is decorated with a unique engraved Vertu pattern and the handset is hand-built in England with each unit assembled and signed by a single master craftsman. Based in the UK, Vertu was established in 1998 and launched its first phone in Paris in 2002, with its luxury handsets now sold in boutiques, department stores, jewellery shops and watch retailers worldwide.
