Friday, 23rd January 2009 (1362 views) A fashion photographer who was onboard the plane forced to land in the Hudson River last week has credited a gold coin he was wearing for keeping him safe.According to Nikolay Illiev, the coin was sent to him last summer by his parents in Bulgaria as he felt that it would bring him good luck in the US. The Standart News in Bulgaria reported that the 32-year-old Bulgarian was onboard the jet that was forced to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River in New York last Thursday. He was wearing the gold coin given to him by his grandmother as an amulet, having caught US Airways Flight 1549 at the last minute as a transfer flight in a bid to reach Las Vegas. Snooker player John Higgins recently told the Times that a 'lucky' gold coin given to him by his wife Denise had helped him through to the quarter-finals of the Masters.
