Northern Superior Resources has reported that it has discovered a new gold showing and a number of gold-bearing ductile shear zones in the Big Dam area of its Ti-pa-haa-kaa-ning project.

The prospect in north-western Ontario is 50 per cent-owned by Northern Superior and the new gold zones have been located at the head of the gold grain-in-till dispersal apron.

Discovered as a result of a summer drill programme, the new gold showing consisted of several separate quartz-veins hosted by granodorite and returned 3.34 g/t gold and 8.9 g/t gold.

A total of 33 diamond drill holes were completed, totalling 6,086m, focused on the gold potential and geologic setting based on historic showings.

Dr Thomas Morris, Northern Superior president and chief executive, commented: "The exploration programme is on track and progressing as planned as we close in on the source of the gold grains through compilation and interpretation of data acquired to date."

Toronto-based Northern Superior is a junior exploration company focused on gold activities in the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield and trades on the Toronto stock exchange under the symbol SUP.
