A new solid 18-c gold Apple iPhone has been created by an Austrian jeweller that is priced at €1.79 million (£1.61 million).

The 'Kings Button' mobile phone is made of yellow, white and rose gold and is encrusted with diamonds.

Jeweller Peter Aloisson designed the handset as the most expensive iPhone in the world.

The designer launched his first luxury mobile phone in 1998 and also produces a range of exclusive interior design items and add-on phone jewellery made from gold.

He has created gold phones for Vertu, a UK-based company that claims to have launched the world's first luxury mobile phone in Paris in 2002.

Continental Mobiles offers an exclusive hand tailored Apple iPhone that sports a complete mirror finish achieved using .999 24-c gold for £1,099, while Geneva-based luxury communications company Goldvish offers a range of mobile handsets in rose, yellow or white gold.
