Monday, 15th December 2008 (1304 views) Mantis Mineral has reported that it has acquired additional claims at its Cree Lake gold property in the Abitibi greenstone belt of northern Canada.The Canadian company has staked two new claims north and west of the existing west boundary of the property in order to effectively consolidate the claim fabric with respect to the orientation of the mineralised zones at the Flint-rock occurrence. Mantis recently announced that it had obtained assay results of up to 38 opt gold at the Cree Lake property during a recent sampling programme. The firm's claim framework now consists of 18 claims totaling 3,904 hectares and the property covers an 8.5km east-west length of prospective geology. Robin Ross, Mantis chief executive, said: "We are excitedly planning a winter drill programme having been encouraged by previous drilling by Flint Rock Mines in the winter of 1962-63." Toronto-based Mantis is a resource and exploration firm that trades on the Canadian stock exchange and is focused on creating shareholder value through "the exploration and development of its suite of strategically located, high-impact Canadian exploration projects".
