Tuesday, 9th December 2008 (1502 views) Pobjoy Mint has released a new Christmas coin for the 2008 festive season.Issued on behalf of the Isle of Man Treasury, the 22-c gold coin weighs eight grams and comes in a special presentation box, Numismaster.com reports. The reverse of the 50p coin depicts four calling birds and is the fourth in a series of Christmas coins based on the popular song The Twelve Days of Christmas. Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley is featured on the obverse of the 27.30mm-diameter coin and the 22-c gold coin is capped at 250. Last year Pobjoy issued a 22-c gold coin depicting three French hens in its Christmas 50p series. Pobjoy Mint issued a new pair of 2009 dated gold coins with a hole through the centre to mark an exhibition of figures from China's Terracotta Army at the British Museum in London as part of its ongoing History of Man series.
