Monday, 8th December 2008 (1355 views) A solid gold mobile phone has been released by Vertu that would cost around £1 million to buy.The latest version of the Vertu luxury mobile phone brand is made from solid, sculpted, hand-polished gold. Taking over 1,000 hours to cut to shape, more than 700 hours to hand polish and 500 hours to assemble, the phone is the most elaborate Vertu to date and was designed by former Nokia head of design Frank Nuovo. The Boucheron 150 has angled surfaces to give it the look of cut stone and each of the handset's gold components has been handcrafted from solid gold. Mr Nuovo, the founder and chief designer of luxury mobile phone maker Vertu, has marked the company's tenth anniversary and the 150th anniversary of Parisian jewellery house Boucheron with the new gold phone. The newest Vertu store, stocking a range of luxury handsets, including gold models, opened this month in Old Bond Street, London.
