Monday, 8th September 2008 (1612 views) Gold items have been featured in a ceremony commemorating 100 years since the opening of a church in the Hamptons, New York.Parishioners and clergy gathered at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary to celebrate the historic building's centennial, reports Hamptons.com. A raffle replicating the one at the original opening a century ago was conducted with the same prizes given out. These included a ladies' gold watch and a $20 gold coin. Other giveaways included a children's china tea set, an ornamental clock, a French doll and a crock of flour. Organisers were able to track down a story containing the old prize list with help from newspaper the Southampton Press. Meanwhile, a gold crown has also been offered as first prize in a competition designed to promote security during festivities in Mumbai, in association with a fire safety organisation, according to the Times of India.
