Wednesday, 30th July 2008 (1900 views) A twist has occurred in the kidnapping tale of Clark Rockefeller and his seven-year-old daughter. The Boston Herald has reported that Mr Rockefeller claimed to have bought a 72-foot catamaran for $300,000 (£151,760) worth of gold bullion. Mr Rockefeller apparently confided in friends that he had bought The Serenity with his own treasure before he kidnapped his own daughter during a supervised parental visit this weekend. The newspaper reported that the US Coast Guard and other authorities were searching for the yacht in order to prevent the high society father from escaping abroad. It has been claimed the abduction plot was planned over several months by Mr Rockefeller, who supposedly does not have a valid social security number or a job. Aliases of the man include James Frederick and Michael Brown, reports the Telegraph. Elaine Driscoll, a Boston Police spokeswoman, said: "Investigators have learned that Clark Rockefeller is a very elusive and secretive man."
