Explorer intercepts new gold in PeruMonday, 12th May 2008 (378 views) "Encouraging" mineralisation has been intersected at the La Yegua property in Peru, the company developing the site has said.Chapleau Resources reported that geochemical results from two drill holes at the site had returned gold values of 0.03 g/t gold over a distance of 116 metres, which included an 11-metre section of 0.10 g/t gold. A further interval graded at 0.04 g/t gold was encountered between the depths of 134 metres and 161 metres, the company said. Copper intersections were also encountered and Chapleau said the intercepts have opened up La Yegua for further exploration to the east and south-east. Elsewhere on the site, exploration work will also be carried out on possible gold vein structures located between four kilometres and five kilometres south-west of current activity. Previous mapping work by Bear Creek detected these veins over a total area of approximately 1.9 square kilometres, the company said. In addition to its Peru concession, Chapleau Resources also has projects in Brazil, including the Coringa, Mato Velho and Los Sunos properties.
