High-grade gold strike in New BrunswickThursday, 1st May 2008 (663 views) Recently completed diamond drilling on the Clarence Stream joint venture gold property in New Brunswick, Canada, has intercepted high-grade gold mineralisation that extends the Deep zone of the property, it has been announced.The companies developing the site, Freewest Resources and Rockport Mining, said they were "encouraged" by the expansion of the zone, as well as the discovery of a new zone of mineralisation that returned gold values of 17.25 g/t gold over five metres. Assay highlights from the Deep zone drilling included gold graded at 16.60 over two metres, 4.60 g/t gold over one metre and 3.86 g/t gold over four metres. Other results from the new zone included 11.20 g/t gold over 0.50 metres, 3.86 g/t gold over four metres and 26.60 g/t gold over 0.50 metres. It has now been tested over a strike length of approximately 650 metres and to a depth of 300 metres. Both the new zone and the Deep zone remain open along strike and at depth, the companies said. Clarence Stream comprises around 706 mineral claims covering 11,296 hectares. It is located around in south-west New Brunswick, approximately 110 kilometres from the port city of Saint John.
