Northern Freegold announces major drilling programmeFriday, 25th April 2008 (541 views) Northern Freegold has commenced drilling at a project in the Yukon Territory of Canada, the company has announced.Drilling in the Nucleus zone at the Freegold Mountain project has now started, with eight holes scheduled to test the area surrounding GRD07-41 and GRD07-58. These previously returned 72 metres of 2.5 g/t gold and 75 metres of 4.26 g/t gold, which highlighted a high-grade gold trend within the zone, the company said. Northern Freegold president Susan Craig said that the group's working capital provided satisfactory financing for the 25,000-metre drilling programme, with the key aspect being that it has started two months earlier than previous exploration projects. "The initial drilling will help delineate possible extensions of the higher grade trend within the Nucleus zone," she added. "This aggressive 2008 programme will help Northern Freegold execute its strategy of developing resources and building reserves." In addition to its assets in the Yukon Territory, the company is also developing the Burro Creek property in Arizona's Mojave Desert.
