Amarillo expands gold zone in BrazilTuesday, 25th March 2008 (1392 views) Gold drilling at the Cerrito prospect in Brazil has expanded the site's known mineralisation, the company behind the project has announced.Amarillo Gold said it has completed 24 drill holes at Cerrito, which is the most developed of the four known gold mineralized prospects at the Lavras do Sul project in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Assay results have now been returned from 16 of these 24 holes and results so far indicate three gold zones are hosted on the prospect, with a strike zone for the central area measuring 400 metres long by up to 50 metres wide. Results from these zones include intersections of 2.66 g/t gold over five metres, 2.31 g/t gold over 5.8 metres and 1.92 over eight metres. Additional intercepts include 123.95 metres graded at 0.90 g/t gold, 122.5 metres grading 0.35 g/t gold and 210 metres graded at 0.31 g/t gold. Lavras do Sul is located in the south-west corner of Brazil, near the borders with Argentina and Uruguay. It is one of four projects currently being developed by Amarillo in the country, the others include the Ourolandia, Santo Antonio and Mara Rosa properties.
