High-grade gold strikes in EcuadorThursday, 13th March 2008 (2416 views) High-grade gold values have been returned from in-fill drilling at the Fruta Del Norte gold and silver deposit on the Condor project in south-east Ecuador, the company developing the property has said.Aurelian Resources said holes were drilled 50 metres apart in the central zone of high-grade mineralisation on the property. Results from these holes include 13.16 g/t gold over 168.93 metres and 7.41 g/t over 144.05 metres, the company said. Additional drilling returned intercepts graded at 12.47 g/t gold over 168.93 metres, 22.69 g/t gold over 53.50 metres and 12.60 g/t gold over 35 metres. Inferred gold resources at the Fruta Del Norte deposit are estimated at 58.9 million tonnes grading 7.23 g/t for 13.7 million ounces of gold, the company said. Aurelian's president and chief executive Patrick F N Anderson said: "We continue to drill aggressively, with three rigs now pursuing the blue sky potential of the Condor project." Aurelian has identified 30 gold targets within the Condor project. The site is located in the Oriente region of south-east Ecuador near the border with Peru.
