"Significant" gold intersections at Windfall LakeThursday, 6th March 2008 (2421 views) "Significant" gold intercepts have been made in four exploration drill holes at the Windfall Lake property in the Abitibi region of Quebec, the company behind the work has said.Noront Resources said the drilling was designed to test the extent of mineralisation at the site, which lies with the Urban township. Returns from one of the holes confirm that a previous intersection of 16.12 g/t over two metres is part of a 16.95-metre wide zone which starts at a depth of 299 metres, the company confirmed. Gold returned from this hole graded at 4.52 g/t, it added. Intersections from two other three holes in the programme include values of 23.12 g/t gold over 1.75 metres and 8.30 g/t gold over 2.05 metres. Noront said the final hole included four significant intersections - 22.94 g/t gold over 0.60 metres, 15.89 g/t gold over 1.80 metres, 15.95 over 0.90 metres and a 124.08 g/t gold over 1.25 metres. The company added that a ramp portal is set to be completed at Windfall Lake before the end of March and it expects to completed the first phase of an underground exploration campaign by the third quarter of the year. Windfall Lake is located in the Chibougamau mining district of southern Quebec. The property covers two adjacent claim blocks over an area of around 1,440 hectares.
