Oro hits high-grade gold in MexicoTuesday, 4th March 2008 (2322 views) Assay results from the Trinidad property in Mexico indicate a new zone with the potential to increase the site's inferred mineral resource to 91,915 ounces of gold, the company developing the project has said.Oro Gold said drilling in a previously unexplored area o the north-east of the Taunus mining pit had returned values of 3.29 g/t gold over 30 metres, including an eight-metre section graded at 10.25 g/t gold. The company said the results confirm the potential for "significant resource expansion" at the site. Meanwhile, drilling in the Colinas area to the south of the Taunus pit intersected mineralisation approximately 90 metres below the surface. Results from these holes included values of 1.10 g/t gold over 22 metres, 1.14 g/t gold over 26 metres and 1.98 g/t over 14 metres. Oro says this indicates a new gold-bearing system. Both the new zones remain open at depth and along strike, it added. The Trinidad project covers around 65,124 hectares in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. It is one of 11 projects being explored by Oro Gold in Mexico and the Central American country of Panama.
