Sutter Gold updates mine resourceThursday, 14th February 2008 (1378 views) Sutter Gold Mining has announced a 29 per cent increase in gold resources at its Sutter Gold project in California. Its new mineral resource estimate for the site, which updates 2006 data, shows indicated resources of 612,364 tonnes containing 223,044 ounces of gold graded at 11.3 g/t gold, the company said. Much of the increase is down to the conversion of inferred resources into indicated resources and the discovery of new mineralisation, the company said. Several of these new zones, which are included in the Lincoln-Comet and Keystone areas, remain open to depth and down plunge to the south-east. The company added that 14 "significant" new targets have been identified for drilling, which it added present good potential for further discoveries. The Sutter Gold project is located within the famous Mother Lode gold belt in the Sierra Nevada. The 120 mile-long belt was discovered in the early 1850s and helped to spark the Californian Gold Rush.
