Rainy discovers "impressive" gold intersectionTuesday, 29th January 2008 (2369 views) Rainy River has reported a gold intersection around 400 metres north of the ODM/17 Gold Trend, it has emerged. The firm's chief executive officer, Nelson W Baker, described the finding as "impressive". Hole NR07-212 was explored in the 433 Zone and was found to have the best grade and thickness discovered in the region to date, Mr Baker noted. The discovery returned a 51-metre interval grading 3.78 g/t and was made amid an 18-hole winter programme in the 433 zone, which was not been previously drilled as the region is wet and swampy in the summer period, he noted. A second hole that is still in progress, Nr07-218, has also revealed visible gold sections that will be posted on the group's website. No details on the quantity or grade of gold found in this discovery will be made until formal assay results have been received by the company. Rainy River's history traces back to the activity of Walter Baker and his gold discovery success with the mining industry in the Hemlo and Thunder Bay areas of Canada.
