Gold items to be displayed in CaliforniaTuesday, 15th January 2008 (2453 views) A number of gold items are set to go on display at the Edward-Dean Museum as part of an exhibit entitled Art of the Empires, the Record-Gazette has reported.The Cherry Valley, California museum will host luxury handiworks from Imperial Russia and Napoleonic France, including an onyx and agate Faberge box trimmed in gold, featuring diamonds and garnets. As well, a set of gold and malachite carvings representing the signs of the zodiac will be displayed. Other items in the collection, which will be on display at the museum's Mary E and Ben Rabe Gallery from January 27th until April 13th, include a Faberge egg with a working clock and a jewelled frog from St Petersburg. The Edward-Dean Museum regularly features decorative arts from Europe and Asia dating from the late 16th to early 19th centuries, as well as three special exhibits per year. The museum and its 16-acre garden have been open to the public since 1958.
