Gold show in Orange CountyMonday, 14th January 2008 (2543 views) The 2008 Gold and Treasure show took place in California's Orange County this weekend, with another event scheduled for Phoenix, Arizona next month, it has emerged.Featuring a wealth of information to introduce people about recreational prospecting and treasure hunting, the touring show features a jewellery display, gold-panning contests and how-to demonstrations, according to the Los Angeles Times. In addition, historical gold panning equipment is displayed alongside modern-day methods, which the Gold Prospectors Association of America claims can be used by people of all ages to search for precious metals. Tom Massie, presenter of Gold Fever on the Outdoor Channel is on hand to autograph photos and host the event's Gold Game Show, organisers have promised. The first 100 attendees to each show receive a vial of gold. As well as the Arizona event, gold shows are planned for Fresno, California, Salem, Oregon and Dayton Ohio among other US cities in 2008.
