Trade old gold for cash at travelling toy expoThursday, 10th January 2008 (1661 views) Visitors to the Toy Roadshow, which travels across the United States and Canada, as well as making select stops in Russia and Germany, can bring in old gold jewellery, toy boxes and coin collections to have them appraised and sold, according to Jeff Parsons.Mr Parsons, president of the International Toys and Coin Collectors Association, said the travelling exhibition provides an ideal opportunity for those who are looking to buy and sell a number of collectibles, including toys, gold coins and gold jewellery. "Bring in your stuff, set it down and we'll give you an offer," he told the Peoria Journal Star in Illinois. "Collectors want fresh stuff, and we connect them to the seller." He added that old or unwanted gold items are particularly desirable, as they can be purchased in cash and melted down for re-use. According to the newspaper, the show is currently set up at the Ramada Inn in Peoria. Other upcoming events in the Illinois city include an exhibit at the Lakeview Museum entitled Representations of the Virgin Mary in Contemporary Art and a stand-up comedy performance by actor Jerry Seinfeld at the Peoria Civic Centre.
