Gold coin to be sold at Florida auctionFriday, 9th November 2007 (1704 views) A Saint-Gaudens $10 gold coin is set to be sold at a Florida auction in January, Numismatic News has reported.The coin, a 1933 eagle, is to be sold by Heritage Auction Galleries as part of the Florida United Numismatists (FUN) 53rd annual convention, which will be held from January 10th to 13th at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando. Part of a collection of US money spanning from Colonial to modern times, the coin is considered to be of museum quality, Heritage Auction Galleries president Greg Rohan told the news source. According to FUN, the coin auction is an annual event and features both coins and paper money from the US and around the world. Its upcoming January convention will include three days of educational clinics and talks, as well as a programme for younger coin collectors. This year, for the first time, the non-profit group also added a second FUN convention the first to be held in the summer - in West Palm Beach, Florida.
