Exploration programme planned for Tequila project

Thursday, 11th October 2007 (1504 views)

The encouraging assay results from a first-phase underground and surface exploration programme at the Tequila gold project in Mexico have prompted Timmins Gold to plan for further exploratory drilling at the site.

Located 30 kilometres north of the town of Tequila, Mexico and 70 kilometres north of Guadalajara, the gold project is situated in a historic mining district dating back to the Spanish Colonial period, according to Timmins Gold.

A first-phase, 1000-metre diamond drilling programme is now planned for the project, based on the results of the exploratory drilling.

This project intends to confirm the grade and depth of gold in the Veta Grande vein and the Grano de Oro vein, as well as to provide further sampling and surface exploration of the La Lupita and Guadalupe veins.

Listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, Timmins Gold works with geology teams in Canada and Mexico to acquire, explore and develop a range of gold properties in Mexico, including the company's wholly-owned San Francisco mining project.
