Agrarian agreement permits Mexican mine developmentMonday, 8th October 2007 (1439 views) Gold Resource Corporation has signed the necessary local Ejido agreements with the local agrarian community to begin mine development at the company's El Aguila project.The agreements which allow the corporation to have an intial 20-year operation at the project site, with a potential to extend the contract represent local approval and support for the mining project, which is required in order to get a mining permit from the Mexican federal government, according to Gold Resource Corporation. The local San Pedro Totolapam Ejido and the corporation's subsidiary in Mexico have signed the agreements and filed them with the National Agrarian Court. "We are very pleased with the local support for our mining project and embrace the opportunity for our project to benefit the local communities," said the company's president, William W Reid. Gold Resource Corporation is currently exploring gold properties in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, including El Aguila, which the company believes can be mined with a shallow, open pit.
