Drill programs underway at historic Nevada gold sitesMonday, 8th October 2007 (1517 views) Two Nevada gold properties with historically-defined high grade gold values are currently undergoing extensive exploratory drilling, according to Homeland Precious Metals.A Phase I drilling program at the Water Canyon site will examine targets that appear to be similar to ones found at the nearby Mule Canyon Mine and Fire Creek project, which have yielded a combined production total of 1.5 million ounces of gold. A similar program is underway at the company's Montgomery Pass property, where a reverse-circulation drill will test one of eight targets located near the Walker Lane Trend. This area contains the historically profitable Comstock district, which has produced roughly 8.4 million ounces of gold and the Goldfield district, which has produced 5.9 million ounces. The company hopes that the results from the new drilling programs will confirm the historical high-grade gold sampling found in the area and lead to potential mining developments. Focused on the exploration of gold properties in the state of Nevada, Homeland Precious Metals has three main gold projects Water Canyon, Montgomery Pass and Bell Flat.
