Monday, 13th August 2007 (8150 views) Gold worth INR 35 million (£428,396) has been stolen from a shop on the outskirts of Bangalore.Police are reportedly looking for a group of four to six people in connection with the theft, which saw 35 kilogrammes of the precious yellow metal taken from the shop on Saturday morning. The gold was taken from a Chemmanur Jewellery shop. And News Post India claims Chemmanur Jewellery is one of India's leading jewellery chains. "The gang members enquired about some gold jewellery, posing as customers and then brandished pistols at workers, threatened them and bundled them into a room," the Hindustan Times reports. According to the newspaper, all the suspects are aged in their teens, while the robbery took place in less than 20 minutes. According to the Indian Muslims website, none of the staff was harmed in the burglary, in which INR 300,000 was also stolen.
