Yamana gold produces 116,000 oz in Q2Tuesday, 17th July 2007 (2267 views) Mineral exploration company Yamana Gold has released its operational highlights for the second quarter of 2007 which show its total gold production to be 116,000 ounces.Yamana's individual gold operations produced 44,000 ounces from Chapada, 25,000 ounces from Sao Francisco more than 33,000 ounces of gold combined from San Andres and Fazenda Brasileiro and roughly 12,000 ounces from Jacobina. The company also notes that the majority of 2007 production is anticipated to occur in the final half of the year with production expectations to be updated intermittently. "On a co-product accounting basis, Yamana produced gold at a company-wide cash cost average of approximately $301 (£150) per ounce - not including Fazenda Nova where operations are being discontinued and Jacobina where operations are gradually resuming," the company revealed. At Yamana's Chapada mine a total of 50,300 tonnes of concentrate was produced and 56,400 tonnes of concentrate delivered for sale during the quarter. Following a 2006 feasibility study, Jacobina's proven and probable reserves were placed at 1.2 million ounces with 2.9 million ounces of measured and indicated resources and 4.2 million ounces of additional inferred resources.
