Expedition results announced by River Rainy

Tuesday, 17th October 2006 (4923 views)

River Rainy Resources has reported the final results of its latest drilling expedition in Canada.

Nelson W Baker, president of the company, announced that five shallow holes have been drilled to intersect the near surface extension of the 17-zone gold mineralisation.

The most easterly of these five holes, which are all situated in the Richardson Township, intersected successfully with an interval of 30 metres. This impressive width graded 4.48 grams per tonne of gold.

River Rainy's project is about 80 kilometres south of Kenora in Ontario. This area has been under explored up until now, but has an excellent infrastructure which can be explored all year round.

Two higher grade sections were also found. One graded 9.11 grams per tonne gold over 9 metres and the other 5.92 grams per tonne gold over 19.5 metres.

The company is to continue exploring the area aggressively and then will follow the 17-zone gold trend towards the Beaver Pond zone, again within the Richardson Township.

Over the last few months River Rainy's aim has been to expand the 17-zone along strike and trace the large gold horizon down plunge. It is in a strong financial position and digging with three rigs will continue in 2007.
