Tuesday, 13th June 2006 (3915 views) A north Californian mine has seen its first gold recovered by Bullion River Gold. The French Gulch project saw testing of its mill and mining operation over several hours last Friday, with a steady production of gold achieved. The property has seen underground mining since 1852 and is currently being bought by payments. Company president Peter M. Kuhn said of the test: "We are very, very happy with the success of our start-up and the recovery of such spectacular pieces of gold. "This high-grade recovery is encouraging support for our expectations of a high-grade operation," he added. The site features two ball mills capable of processing around 220 tonnes a day, and a centrifugal separator with a daily capacity of 700 tonnes. Despite an ongoing price correction showing as a spike since March 2006 the price of gold remains strongly up over the past few years.
