Wednesday, 5th April 2006 (5465 views) March 2006 was a busy month for the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX).Having won approval from the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority, the DGCX will begin trading in currency futures in the next few months And it is also to launch options on gold and silver in the last quarter of the year, as well as futures in steel, marine fuel oil and cotton. The chairman of the exchange, Colin Griffith, told New Kerala reporters: "We will certainly launch the gold options trading in the last quarter of this year, steel trading somewhere in September, while marine fuel oil and cotton by the end of this year." He continued: "We are closely studying both sugar and pulses and have plans to launch these by next year." He went on to note that the exchange is also planning to begin trading in certain commodities, including gold, silver and currency, on Saturdays and Sundays.
