More gold intersected at Cornerstone, NevadaFriday, 14th October 2005 (2583 views) Nevada Pacific, which owns properties in two significant gold-producing belts in Nevada, has struck additional gold on its Cornerstone project.Additional gold was intersected in one drill hole, further suggesting the presence of low-grade halo mineralisation in the current drilling zone, which surrounds the previously indicated high-grade zone. This hole intersected 120 feet, which included a grade of 0.046 opt gold from 80 to 100 feet. Nevada Pacific's Cornerstone project is located on the Battle Mountain and Cortez Gold trend some 12 miles south-east of the large-scale Cortez Hills deposit and close to US Gold's Tonkin Springs gold property. The exploration programme at Cornerstone consists of drilling samples and road cut samples whose results are currently being verified. Age dates of the surrounding carbonate rocks will also be investigated. According to the US Geological Survey, Nevada provided 81 per cent of the nation's gold in 2003, a total of 228,000kg of gold.
