Drilling to start for VedronWednesday, 5th October 2005 (2504 views) Vedron gold is about to start drilling on its Buffalo Ankerite property located in Ontario, Canada. The property is close to several other properties and its geological construction constitutes a folded complex of altered ultramafic volcanics, pillowed and massive mafic flows, quartz porphyry, mafic tuffs and fragmental lavas. Where its ultramafic and mafic rocks intersect are quartz tourmaline ankerite veins in which there is gold mineralisation. Mineralisation also occurs in the quartz porphyry. Drilling previously took place on the property in 2001-2003, during which Placer Dome outlined near-surface gold mineralisation. The upcoming drilling of a predicted 12 drill holes will focus on the area from the South Mine to the North Mine and is due to commence this month. The Buffalo Ankerite property produced 1,018,000 ounces of gold between 1926 and 1953. In 2002 Ontario produced 52 per cent of Canada's gold output. The company anticipates that there may be further potential for gold mineralisation zones on the Buffalo Ankerite property.
