Gold crown donated to templeWednesday, 5th October 2005 (4517 views) An unidentified person from Tamil Nadu has given a highly valuable gold crown to Sri Venkateswara Temple.The crown weighs a staggering 1,300 grams and is adorned with 3,500 American diamonds. It was meant for Malayapaswamyvaru, who is the processional deity of Lord Venkateswara. The crown made him look even more spectacular as he was paraded through Tirumala in silk clothes and other ornaments for the start of the annual nine-day Brahmotsavams festival. Thousands of onlookers gathered in the streets of the city to view the ceremonies.
