La Mamita returns gold for Acero-MartinTuesday, 20th September 2005 (3019 views) Acero-Martin Exploration's La Mamita Gold Project in north Peru has returned pleasing results, reports the company.Situated in the Ancash mining department, La Mamita expands over 1,000 hectares and lies on a bed of sedimentary rocks. Recent testing involved a geochemical survey on a soil grid of 125 metres squared, whereby 36 soil samples were collected at 25 metre intervals. The highest gold value in a sample was 2.44 g/t and the average was 0.236 g/t. Rock chips previously taken from this area averaged 1.43 g/t of gold. Encouraged by these results, Acero-Martin will be undertaking further geochemical surveys and following them up with geological mapping and hand trenching. Acero-Martin is currently compiling data from rock, soil and trench samples obtained from its Pinaya Gold Project in south Peru.
