Irish miners Galantas to manufacture jewellery

Tuesday, 20th September 2005 (3102 views)

Mining company Galantas Gold Corporation will be producing and selling its own gold jewellery.

Galantas is currently building Ireland's first gold mine in Co Tyrone, which is expected to go into production in Spring 2006.

In addition to mining, the company will be producing certified Galantas Irish gold jewellery.

The company has just received results from a VTEM airborne survey, which has displayed discrete anomalies primarily in the eastern area of Galantas' prospecting licence where it is developing its Omagh Mine.

Experts believe that the anomalies are conductive sulphide rich segments of quartz veins as found in Kearney. This suggests the presence of gold, as gold grades have been shown to correlate with sulphide concentration in this area.

Some of the VTEM conductors were also found to have strong coincident gold geochemical anomalies.

When the data has been fully interpreted it will allow the specification of a diamond-drilling programme to go ahead.
