WGC launches utilisegold.comMonday, 19th September 2005 (2648 views) The World Gold Council (WGC), an industry funded promotional organisation, has launched www.utilisegold.com.This website was created in response to demand, and provides a source of information for potential customers who wish to identify leading manufacturers of gold products relating to industrial, medical and technical uses. It forms a single, comprehensive knowledge base and consists of a fully-searchable business directory with direct links to manufacturers' websites. It also features an up-to-date news service aimed at the industrial and scientific communities, and an optional e-newsletter that aims to promote greater dialogue within the industry. The WGC believes that this new service will become "the source" for information about gold's industrial, medical and technical applications and industry suppliers. "There is massive global interest in gold and its uses and, given the success of other WGC gold-related websites, we anticipate a high level of good quality visitors to the site," commented Richard Holliday, the WGC's head of industrial applications. At present, approximately 400 tonnes of gold are practically used each year in products ranging from catalysts to electrical components to medical precision implants. This website joins the WGC's other gold based websites, which have proved popular with 98.4 million hits per annum in 2004.
