Bema Gold discovers significant gold mineralisationWednesday, 7th September 2005 (2591 views) The Bema Gold Corporation has discovered significant gold and silver mineralisation following drilling at its Kupol project in Chukotka, Russia.Previous exploratory investigations projected that gold mineralisation in both the South and Big Bend zones ended at a depth of 230 metres but they have now been found to go down to 500 metres. Within the main Kupol vein, gold values of 6.13 g/t were discovered in a 3.15-meter wide vein. Furthermore, the company has discovered the Vtoryi II vein, which indicates that high-grade mineralisation is present outside of the main Kupol structure. Following drilling on the project's Central zone, more gold has also been discovered in what were thought to be unmineralised dykes. These new discoveries provide promising news for the company, which has recently received a fully underwritten commercial tranche of $280 million for the construction and development of the Kupol Mine.
