Orezone comments on Essakane, Burkina FasoFriday, 2nd September 2005 (2552 views) Orezone Resources' 85,000-metre drill program and pre-feasibility study at Essakane, Burkina Faso's largest gold deposit, are both nearing completion.Gold values including one of 10.8 g/t over 10 metres and one of 3.7 g/t over 44 metres have been discovered in several drill holes on the company's Essakane Main Zone (EMZ). Drilling has taken place down dip, along strike and below the EMZ in order to provide more information on already confirmed zones of mineralisation. Commenting on the drilling results, Orezone's president, Ron Little described them as "very positive". "They indicate the deposit remains open in all directions, particularly at depth, with an increasingly stronger vertical component," he said. Orezone have other interests such as the Bondi, Sega and Bombore projects where it will also be drilling. When the pre-feasibility study and resource calculation have been concluded Orezone and Gold Fields Limited, with whom it is operating a joint venture, will be able to progress at Essakane.
